As Christians, we live within a redemptive historical context that revolves around two theological axes: glory and exile. However, these axes that are often overlooked in our expectations of work. The theology of glory and exile reveals critical insights into understanding the tensions we experience in the “already but not yet.” Could the reasons we have for wanting to leave our workplaces be the very reasons God is calling us to stay?
This lecture is part of our 2017 Summer Evening Public Lecture series.
David Kim oversees the Center for Faith & Work, based at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. Prior to this role, he served as the Director of the Gotham Fellowship, developing and teaching its intensive curriculum to NYC professionals. He is the author of 20 and Something, as well as two devotional books, Glimpses of a Greater Glory and The Lord’s Prayer Devotional. He is also the general editor of the recently released Faith and Work Study Bible.
