The 40 children and youth of the Eastside Story Guild tell the story of Jesus’ trial before the religious court, the political court, and the court of public opinion. They contrast the noise and certitude of a litigious, media-crazed culture with the relative silence of Jesus and explore why Jesus did not mount a stronger case in his own defense.
Old Pine weaves the events of the trial in and out of the silence of the ancient forests of British Columbia providing a point of entry into a quiet that is older than time itself. A dramatic presentation that takes one of the most enigmatic parts of the gospel narrative and makes it reverberate with new meaning and beauty.
