More Than 12, in partnership with Vancouver Urban Ministries, invites you to participate in a weekend symposium made possible by the Calvin Institute of Worship. This 2-day event will provide deeper spiritual insight into the Psalms with special guest speakers, workshops on dance and choir in the Psalms, a roundtable discussion for DJ’s & Electronic Musicians, and evening celebrations showcasing some of your creations inspired by the Psalms!

Speakers

 

 

Rev., Dr. Ed Hird

Rev., Dr. Ed Hird is the Rector of St. Simon’s Church North Vancouver, B.C., having served there since 1987.  Ordained in 1980, Rev., Dr. Hird has also served at St. Philip’s Vancouver, St. Matthew’s Abbotsford and served as Chaplain and President for Alpha Canada. As the National Chair for Anglican Renewal Ministries  of Canada, he was one of three co-signers of the Montreal Declaration of Anglican Essentials. For the past 26 years, he has written over 330 articles as a columnist on spiritual issues for local North Vancouver newspapers. In the last number of years, Rev., Dr. Hird has lead conferences and retreats in Honduras, Rwanda, Washington State, BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Newfoundland, and Toronto. edhird.com

 

 

Terrance Richmond

Terrance Richmond currently serves as the Youth Pastor of New Birth Church in both Oakland and Pittsburg, California under the leadership of Bishop C. Carl Smith. He is an accomplished speaker, teacher, recording artist and mentor to others. Terrance has also been given the great opportunity to be one of FCA’s, (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), speakers. He has addressed students, professionals, social workers, counselors, parents and teachers, about life on the streets. His focus is on the importance to youth of adult attention, guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. terrancerichmond.com

Tennyson Vaughn

Tennyson Vaughn, a native of the country Barbados, has been heavily involved in music ever since his parents gave him a trumpet for his 8th birthday. He also plays the piano, drums and bass guitar. After graduating college with an Associate Degree in Music, Tennyson joined the Celebrant Singers, an International Music and Missions ministry based in California. He spent next five and a half years as a Team/Technical Director, taking teams of musicians and singers all over the world, before becoming a Musical Director with the Vancouver Orchestra Club. Tennyson is currently the Worship Director of White Rock Community Church.

 

Stefanie Tong

Stefanie is the founder and director of CORE Revelation Dance Ministry, bringing over 10 years of experience as a Hip Hop dance educator to workshops, performances and seminars. She has choreographed for dance studios, high school teams, modelling agencies, fashion shows and charity events. Some of her selected credits include representing Canada at the International Youth Dance Festival in Macau, China, MTV Select, Global TV Edmonton, 1999 Grey Cup Half Time Show and the Vancouver 2010 Closing Ceremony. Stefanie’s passion is to share how to access the innate gift of movement and using dance to increase the Kingdom of God.

 
Kristen Biegel

Kristen Biegel has been dancing for over ten years and has studied and performed primarily in hip hop and salsa, as well as other international rhythms. She is a Zumba® Fitness instructor and former Zumba® Jammer. Kristen desires to connect with others and make them feel special by sharing her passion for music and dance to glorify the Lord.
