John Walton, Old Testament Professor at Wheaton College, will be at Regent College on October 17 to deliver a public lecture titled “Genesis Through Ancient Eyes: The Lost World of Adam and Eve.” This lecture explores the topic of his 2015 book, The Lost World of Adam and Eve: Genesis 2-3 and the Human Origins Debate, which argues that Adam and Eve are both archetypal figures and real individuals, who were chosen by God for particular roles and functions. Dr. Walton builds his argument from the perspective of ancient Near Eastern thinking, and believes this view of Genesis 2-3 will allow for a much fuller Christian engagement with science.

The evening will be hosted by Regent College Professor of Old Testament, Phil Long, and will be followed by a question and answer period.
