The Know the Message, Preach the Word conference is intended to equip pastors, teachers, and leaders in the church how to be both better handlers of God’s Word and better proclaimers of His truth. This year we have Dr. Gordon T. Smith & Rev. Darrell W. Johnson on hand to lead us through the message of the Book of Acts and to teach and equip us how to best preach its message.

Hear from….

Darrell W. Johnson – He is the Senior Minister of First Baptist Church in Vancouver, Canada.  Darrell has been communicating the gospel since 1970, and is the author of six books: Who Is Jesus (Regent College Publishing, 2011), The Glory of Preaching: Participating in God’s Transformation of the World (IVP Academic, 2009), It is Finished (Regent College Publishing, 2008), Fifty-Seven Words that Change the World: A Journey Through the Lord’s Prayer (Regent College Publishing, 2005), Discipleship on the Edge: An Expository Journey through the Book of Revelation (Regent College Publishing, 2004), and Experiencing the Trinity (Regent College Publishing, 2002). He is a popular speaker for retreats and conferences.

Darrell and his wife Sharon have been married 42 years, and have raised four children, adopted from four different countries of the world.  They are now enjoying being grandparents.

Gordon T. Smith –  He is President and Professor of Systematic and Spiritual Theology (BA, MDiv, PhD) at Ambrose University College in Calgary, AB. Gordon joined the faculty of Ambrose when he arrived as president in the Fall of 2012 – after nine years as the executive director of reSource Leadership international.  Prior to that, he was the Academic Dean of Regent College, Vancouver, where he has continued to teach over the years.  An author of numerous books and articles, Gordon’s areas of particular interest are:  the nature of conversion and religious experience, spiritual discernment and effective decision-making, the sacraments, and the question of calling and vocation.

Gordon is married to Joella and has two adult sons and six grandchildren.
