Please join us for the Metro Vancouver Alliance 2014 Annual General Meeting on Thursday, June 5 at 7:00 pm. We will be holding elections for the MVA Board and welcoming new and long-standing member organizations.

This will be MVA’s first AGM as a ‘founded’ organization. The Founding Assembly on March 19 drew 650 people. Speakers included senior civil society and political leaders. Over 40 faith, labour and community organizations, representing 200,000 people in Greater Vancouver stood up at roll call. They were joined in the hall by invited guests and delegations from observer organizations. The founding has generated very significant recognition, interest and excitement among our own members and the wider public. Research Action Teams on housing, poverty, transit and social isolation are meeting to develop concrete, achievable goals for change.

Affiliates and friends are invited to learn more about the progress that has been made over this very active year in building a broad-based community alliance here in Vancouver and help us plan for Election Accountability Assembly in October 2014.

The AGM is being held at Vancouver Community College, Broadway Campus, 1120 East 7th Avenue, Vancouver, BC. Google map ref: http://goo.gl/maps/QTNOl. There is parking off 7th Avenue. The closest skytrain is VCC Clarke and the 9 Broadway stops right in front of the college.
