Every day millions of Ugandans walk an average of six kilometres to fetch water.

For one afternoon, we’re asking Vancouverites to walk a day in their shoes.

On the afternoon of Saturday June 6th, ACTS is inviting participants to walk in solidarity with Ugandans and begin to understand what this daily task feels like. Participants will gather at Guelph Park at 2pm, then walk up Main Street to the “watering hole” of Le Marche St. George. After filling up jerry cans full of water, the group will return to Guelph Park for a BBQ, a six kilometre round trip. The event is perfect for families and participants of all ages. ACTS is a Vancouver-based charity that works to bring freedom from disease and needless labour to Ugandans through access to clean water.
