Keynote presentation

The forum will include a keynote presentation by Dr. Harvey Chochinov, a distinguished professor of psychiatry at the University of Manitoba and director of the Manitoba Palliative Care Research Unit, entitled “Maintaining dignity in the face of illness.” Chochinov’s internationally-acclaimed research has shown how a personal sense of dignity can make the difference between a person’s wish to live or die. Learn about what dignity really means to people, and how health professionals, family caregivers and patients themselves can safeguard and promote dignity during the most difficult times.
