Steve McDonald
David Weinberg is the Director of the Israel Office of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs in Jerusalem. In this capacity, he works closely with the Israeli Prime Minister’s office, the Foreign and Defense ministries and intelligence agencies, the Canadian Embassy in Israel, and with media and academics. He is also a diplomatic columnist for The Jerusalem Post and Israel Hayom newspapers and director of public affairs at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies at Bar-Ilan University. He has authored more than 100 publications on the Arab-Israeli conflict.
In his role as Associate Director of Communications for the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, Steve McDonald serves as a spokesperson for the Jewish community in the national media. He prepares advocacy materials, and provides strategic direction for a range of key projects. Prior to joining the Centre, he spent ten years working in politics. During this time, he served in the office of a Member of Parliament, on various political campaigns, and as a consultant and federal lobbyist for a private sector firm, Crestview. The Hill Times named him as one of Canada’s “Top 100 Lobbyists” – one of the few members of the list under the age of 30 at the time.
