Close your eyes for a moment and think about winter and Christmas… for many of us, music plays an integral role in celebrations and events at this time of year. This December, Vivaldi Chamber Choir celebrates many of the more “classical” works dedicated to the season. Our Artistic Director, Edette Gagné, has carefully selected an exceptional selection of works, with tunes from the 14th through 17th centuries, including gorgeous original works by Peter Warlock, William Mathias and Canadian Healy Willan to lesser known original works by some favourite composers John Rutter and David Willcocks. We are also honoured to feature several arrangements and editions by Vivaldi Honorary Lifetime Member, David Millard.

We are thrilled to have Karen Lee-Morlang collaborating with us this season on piano, with many of the songs giving her a chance to shine! We are also featuring our four section leads in solos – three in the Cantata by Kuhnau (originally attributed to Bach) accompanied by piano and recorders, and one in a haunting piece by Peter Warlock.

There will be tunes you recognize… there will be tunes that are new to you… it is going to be a magical show! We hope to see you there for A Classical Christmas afternoon!

Following the concert, come warm your bellies with some mulled apple cider and treats, and join us in a carol sing-along! (Words will be provided.)
