The 50th Annual British Columbia Leadership Prayer Breakfast is an event taking place on Friday April 22nd 2016 to offer support and prayer for those who serve in elected positions in our community at municipal, provincial, federal and international levels.
The British Columbia Leadership Prayer Breakfast is an annual event that attracts over 1,000 people from all walks of life: public servants, business leaders, non-profit organizations and students. Together, we offer support and prayer for those who serve in elected positions in our community at municipal, provincial, federal and international levels.
On Friday, April 22, 2016, please join us for the 50th annual Prayer Breakfast. At this milestone event, we are honoured to have Dr. Angus Reid, Canada’s best known and longest practicing pollster, as our keynote speaker. After nearly 50 years of measuring the pulse of our nation, he truly understands Canada.
Dr. Reid is also an astute businessman who founded two successful companies worth hundreds of millions of dollars: Angus Reid Group in 1979, and Vision Critical in 2003 with his son, Andrew. Since 2014, he has devoted his full-time efforts towards the Angus Reid Institute, a national not-for-profit, non-partisan public opinion research organization dedicated to providing objective pollling data to the the public – at no charge – on a host of critical social, economic and issues.
Since his early career as a university professor in Winnipeg, Dr. Reid has generously given his time and resouces to a variety of charities and organizations and, in 2001, established the Angus Reid Foundation supporting artistic, educational, health care and faith-based projects.
In addition to being a best-selling author and receiving numerous honorary doctorates from Canadian universities, Dr. Reid has been the recipient of a Canada Council Doctoral Fellowship, Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Pacific Region, and the BCAMA Marketer of the Year award. He was inducted into the Canadian Marketing Hall of Fame in 2010, and in 2012 the Canadian Sociology Association created the “Angus Reid Award” in recognition of outstanding practitioners in applied Sociology in Canada. In 2013, Dr. Reid was awarded the Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice from Pope Francis, the highest honour the Pope bestows upon lay people.

50th Anniversary Celebration Dinner : Hyatt Regency Vancouver, Thursday April 21 from 5:00 to 8:00pm. To commemorate our 50th anniversary, we are hosting a Celebration Dinner on Thursday, April 21 at the Hyatt. This dinner will be a wonderful complement to the Prayer Breakfast the next morning and is an intimate occasion with patrons, sponsors, and leaders from the faith community. Our special guest speaker at the dinner is Dr. Julio Montaner OC OBC, an internationally renowned physician whose life’s work has directly contributed to stopping HIV and AIDS in Canada and worldwide.
