ABOUT THE LECTURE
The quest for “impact” has become as taken for granted in social enterprise as the quest for “profit” is in the for-profit sector. But what if “impact” is the wrong goal, or at least the wrong way of understanding the goal? The pursuit of social and systemic transformation is better described as the pursuit of deep change. What are the necessary conditions for deep change and the character of those rare people who truly secure it? Or, to borrow from Jesus’s description of the one truly transformative social reality, How can we think—and act—like a mustard seed?
