How does one express the inexpressible? When our grief is profound and absences echo, words may be insufficient, or they may be lost to us all together. When words fail, art can help.

Come see what has emerged as one woman’s grief was met by an artist’s skill and imagination.

For two years, Lise Struthers spent a few hours every Saturday in the space where her husband had died wrestling with her grief. In that space a vision came to her, and she brought her vision to her friend, well-known Vancouver sculptor, David Robinson.

Over 18 months, they honed a bronze and steel image that evocatively portrays her experience. The resulting work, Limina, is now tucked into the Garden of Remembrance at St John’s Shaughnessy Church.

How might art, whether we contemplate or create it, be a means of expression and solace for you? Come explore and experience with us.
