At Tenth Church, we recognize that the refugee crisis locally and globally is far from over, and we believe that God is calling us to continue caring for the foreigner in our midst.
Over the last two years, we have been honoured to support five families on their refugee journey to Canada.
In partnership with Journey Home, Tenth Church has committed to walking alongside refugee families that arrive in Vancouver, providing them with initial support as needed including housing, clothing, food, transportation and other needs. Shalom House (refugee settlement house in partnership with Tenth and Journey Home) has acted as a transitional home for many of our refugee families as they process paperwork, connect with our community and prepare to live a sustainable life in Canada.
God has opened the doors for us to care for more families this coming year and we are looking for financial support to make this possible.
Borders to Beginnings will:
- be a delicious sit-down dinner created by Middle Eastern chefs
- feature inspirational and impacting stories from refugees
- include a performance from a Syrian musician
- provide an opportunity to give support to refugee families.
Cost: $30
