Join Bruce Hindmarsh and Steve Bell for a rich evening of learning, prayer, and song. Gain a deeper understanding of the practice and significance of praying the Psalms, then engage with these transformative texts through music and meditation.
Bruce Hindmarsh is the James M. Houston Professor of Spiritual Theology, and Professor of the History of Christianity at Regent College, Vancouver. Bruce took his D.Phil. degree in theology at Oxford University, and was a research fellow at Christ Church, Oxford. He has since published and spoken widely to international audiences on the history of early British evangelicalism, and is the recipient of numerous teaching awards, research grants and fellowship.
Steve Bell is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and storyteller with two Juno Awards (Canada’s “Grammys”) for his music and a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his vocational commitment and advocacy work. In December 2012, he released his 17th career CD, Keening for the Dawn.
This lecture is part of our 2019 Summer Evening Public Lecture Series.
