Ross Colello is Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Spa Utopia
Ross Colello is Chairman and CEO and one of the two founding partners of Spa Utopia, a leading day spa in Canada, with three locations in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, ranging in size from 10,500 to 13,000 square feet. The company has three hundred employees and also has the Utopia Foundation which works closely with employees to support orphanages in Africa and other local causes
In May 2000, along with his partner who was the industry specialist, Ross started off the Spa Utopia concept by developing the business side of the project, writing the business plan, arranging the financing, and bringing the other investors to the table.
Spa Utopia is currently launching a new spa concept called Body & Salt by Spa Utopia. This concept is only 1,000 square feet and located in shopping malls. It consists of head, neck, shoulder, and foot massage services for 20 minutes, while semi-enclosed by beautifully lit salt brick walls. It will also have significant retail health and beauty related salt products. The first location opens in March 2015.
In 2002,after 30 years in public accounting servicing clients, Ross retired as a partner in Manning Elliott, a regional Chartered Accounting firm in British Columbia with two offices, 16 partners and 90 people. He had also worked with a large international CPA firm, ran his own practice, and functioned as the Chief Financial Officer of the largest regional daily newspaper in Australia.
In his role as partner in Manning Elliott, Ross opened their Abbotsford Office in 1993, functioning as managing partner until his retirement in 2002. He worked very closely with the owner managers of small and medium sized businesses with tax, financial, strategic planning, financial forecasting and other future oriented consulting services. He also has extensive experience in negotiating, structuring and facilitating the purchase and sale of businesses, and as a mediator in business disputes and shareholder differences. Ross also has considerable experience in the private school industry and also with Christian schools.
Ross has hands on experience with a number of software development and internet related companies as part owner, as independent CA, as a director, and as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
In 1991 Ross founded and led five different Christian Entrepreneurs Groups, each with 8 or 9 owner managers of significant sized businesses. He retired from that role in 2002, but continues today in the original group and is focused on one on one mentoring with Christian businessmen. He is also a Director of Joshua Ministries Canada which trains and works with market place intercessors, connecting them with Christian businesses.
Ross also leads a House Church in his home, training ministry leaders and raising up worshippers and intercessors. This House Church is a hub for many going forth into the nations. It is aligned with Chuck Pierce’s church Glory of Zion in Corinth Texas, and with Dan Hammer’s Pacific Northwest Apostolic Leaders Network based in Everett WA. Ross is working with regional intercessors, and other city and First Nations leaders to prepare the way for the Lord to come in the prophesied revival in the Vancouver area.
Ross’s heart is to release the presence and power of God into the market place and into his city and region to bring about revival accompanied by reformation through the seven mountains. His vision is to see the Body of Christ activated, trained and equipped to build a highway and open gateways for the Lord of Hosts to see His Kingdom established in the spheres he has been given by the Lord.
