Ushering in the season of Advent, Chez Nous: Christmas with Elektra is a seasonal tradition for many families. Experience familiar carols and new works connecting the past with the present, including the world premiere of a suite of carol arrangements by Canadian composer Laura Hawley. Anchoring the program is Benjamin Britten’stimeless A Ceremony of Carols with harpist Vivian Chen. Enjoy, too, the youthful voices of the West Vancouver School District Women’s Honour Choir as Elektra wraps up the season with a beautiful bow.
This concert is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Richard Loomer (1938-2017), Honorary Patron and long-time supporter of Elektra.
Check back shortly for Morna’s Listener’s Guide to this concert, an insider’s perspective on the programming and repertoire.
