The Caring Ministry will be offering a more in-depth course on caring for those living with memory loss or dementia which will take place over 2 days on March 8 and 15, 9am – 2:30pm.
This Foundation and Practicum course will build upon the previous class, Primer on Dementia Care and offer additional insights on Dementia Care with opportunities for participants to actively practice these principles.
You will need to attend the Primer seminar (on Saturday February 15 or previous one on June 1) in order to be a participant in this Foundation and Practicum course.
In the Foundation and Practicum course, we will dig deeper on the sense of dignity, enabling independence by preparing the environment, reflecting on one’s own previous incorrect assumptions about dementia, support remaining memory function of the individual, and creatively think of ways that we can create an environment where life is lived with meaning.
If you care for someone with memory loss or dementia, come and join us for this course. Space will be limited for this course so do register early!
Cost is $75 per person and a discount rate of $50 per person for the FBC community (cheques can be made out to ‘First Baptist Church’ on the 1st day)
