Worse than we thought: Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide
Registration is now open (below) for this free webinar, Mar. 31, 2016 at noon Eastern Time

Since our last webinar on this topic, the Joint Parliamentary Committee has submitted its controversial proposals, more far-reaching and extreme than Canadians expected. We will explore the impact the recommendations could have, the responses the report has been receiving, and consider a way forward. Here are some of the recommendations the committee has suggested:
- No minimum age requirement for euthanasia/assisted suicide, in order to include mature minors
- Advance directives for assisted dying so that a person doesn’t have to consent or be competent at the time of their assisted death
- Ending the lives of some with disabilities or mental illness, who aren’t terminally ill
- Requiring a doctor or institution to participate, even if it is against their strongly-held religious beliefs
