This workshop will help you to understand your emotions (core and inhibitory emotions) and defenses (what we may do to avoid feeling emotions) and help you connect with your calmest and most grounded self. Connecting and sharing with others about emotions can help normalize the emotions we have and to learn to move through tumultuous emotions with greater stability. And by doing it together, this decreases the feelings of aloneness.
Learn to recognize and allow your emotions to help you gain a greater awareness of yourself and to help you to practice inner compassion. Learn to connect with others and yourself more genuinely. This process of becoming more in-tune with your emotions can also help to decrease anxiety and depression.
Who is it for?
This course is designed for people who want to understand or make sense of their emotions, whether they show up as anxiety, depression, or anger (as just several examples) as well as for people who are supporting others on their journeys like parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals.
The structure of the class will be a mix of learning, gentle experiential exercises, questions and answers, and a space where group members can process what it is like to talk about emotions authentically with others.
*Please note that this workshop is not a therapy group and is not meant to replace therapeutic processing that may be suitable for group members.
