Our last Faith and Justice Roundtable of this season will be on Monday, May 30, 2016.
The focus of this roundtable will be the housing crisis and the challenges it presents in rethinking our relationship to land. Of course housing has been in the news a lot these days, from groups concerned that they can’t afford a house in Vancouver, to renters being displaced from their homes for new condo projects, to homeless camps springing up all over the province.
And housing has been a focus of SoJ since we started in 2007, so we bring to it years of engagement around this issue as well. At this roundtable, we want to explore some of the key dimensions of the crisis and link it to thought-provoking biblical texts within the prophetic tradition.
This will be an engaging evening of learning and discussion, and we hope you’ll join us for the evening, and spread the word to others.
Our evening starts with desserts, coffee and tea as usual, at 6:45.
