Creation and the Gospel
The theme of the conference is “Creation and the Gospel” and
Dr. Campbell plans to provide three topics:
• God’s declaration of war – A study of Adam in Genesis 3
• 3 deaths on a mountain – A study of Abraham in Genesis 18
• Like father like son? – A study of Judah in Genesis 44
Conference Speaker
Dr. Iain D Campbell
Dr. Iain D Campbell is the minister of Point Free Church of Scotland on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, where he was inducted on 21 August 2009. He was previously minister in Snizort, on the Isle of Skye (1988-1995) and Back Free Church, also on Lewis (1995-2009). He preaches in both English and Gaelic. He was Moderator of the Free Church General Assembly in 2012, and is married to Anne (his school girlfriend). They have three grown-up children: Iain, Stephen and Emily.
Iain grew up in Stornoway, the main town on Lewis, and studied at the University of Glasgow and the Free Church College, Edinburgh. He was greatly influenced by his ministerial grandfather, and had a desire, even when very young, to be like him, both as a Christian and a minister. By the time he came to leave school that desire had become an irresistible conviction, confirmed by his own reading of the Word, and by two sermons he heard at the time. He applied for the ministry before he finished school, which was an advantage for his choice of subjects at university, as he was able to include the biblical languages in his curriculum, leaving him free to concentrate on more theological subjects at the theological College. He says that the one thing he misses most about living on a lump of peat in the Atlantic is that there is no good academic and theological library to hand!
Dr Campbell is the author of numerous books and articles, including a weekly column for his local paper, the Stornoway Gazette. He contributes to the e-zine of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, Reformation21, and to Ligonier ministry’s Tabletalk magazine. His booklet on Psalm 73, Faith Seeking Understanding, is published by the Trust.

The Fraser Valley Bible Conference is a joint effort between several churches in the greater Fraser Valley, B.C. The churches currently supporting this conference are:

Why
It is the objective of the annual Fraser Valley Bible Conference to advance the cause of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Fraser Valley and beyond, and to equip the churches in the Fraser Valley to be faithful and effective witnesses of the Saviour and his gospel.

Dr. Campbell, who is currently Adjunct Professor of Church History Westminster Theological Seminary, will be addressing the theme “Creation and the Gospel”
