Responding to the Fukushima Triple Disaster of 2011, nine Japenese Artists have set out to provide a voice for the thousands who were affected by this disaster and are still suffering the ongoing repercussions. What cannot be expressed through words is here demonstrated through art, as these artists journey with the disaster-stricken people of Fukushima to depict grief, lament, and silence, but also resilience and innovation. Is there a future for Fukushima, and where is God in it? Seeking to partner in God’s ongoing work of reconciliation, these pieces profess hope—a hope that can empower the people of Fukushima to repaint society for future generations.
