Gender is a topic that has come increasingly into the cultural spotlight, raising questions about what it means to be men and women. As a result, more people feel that they don’t see themselves fitting neatly into either category. On Monday, January 29, two speakers, Mary-Lee Bouma and Andrew Neufeld, will lead our conversation on this topic and help resource us in growing as a safe Biblical community of care and change.
A Christian Reformed pastor equipping people to start new communities of Jesus-followers in urban centres and university campuses, Mary-Lee Bouma also serves as part-time Executive Director of REED, an organization that works with sexually exploited women in Vancouver, giving leadership to their education and advocacy work.
Andrew Neufeld is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Alongside You, an Integrated Health Clinic based in Ladner and South Surrey.
This session will be geared for:
- leaders who want to grow in their understanding of the topic and ability to have conversations about it
- families and friends of people who are asking questions about their gender
- people who are coming to terms with their own gender
