On September 27th, members of the Christ Church Cathedral community will stand together with people across the planet to demand climate justice. This global strike is not just for youth – this time, we need EVERYONE. We need you to put your normal life on hold and show up in the streets to demand dramatic and urgent action against the climate crisis.
The Cathedral will participate in the Climate Strike in a few different ways: the 12:10pm Eucharist will begin on the steps in front of the Cathedral with the ringing of handbells.
There will be a silent procession into the Cathedral and the daily Eucharist will be celebrated.
After the Eucharist those who wish to participate in the march will take SkyTrain to City Hall. There we will gather with people from across the city – and beyond – and march from City Hall, across the bridge, and end up at W. Georgia & Hamilton St. If you wish to march with us, bring a water bottle, umbrella or hat, signs, and your enthusiasm for God’s creation.
