Kentro Christian Network, an association of 50+ Christian relief and development organizations, in partnership with FaithTech and Start Space, are organizing a hackathon:
#HackPoverty2023
February 18–25, 2023: Saturdays in-person, virtually during the week.
Why?
The #HackPoverty event exists to alleviate poverty through deep partnerships in the name of Jesus.
This year at #HackPoverty, the tech communities of Vancouver and Beira, are partnering together to alleviate poverty in Mozambique.
What?
One project, initiated by Jamene Sangalakula, the Southern Africa director of Partners Worldwide, will support data-driven agriculture by improving communication between farmers, labs, and SMEs to minimize risk + loss from the disease.
For example, one chicken farmer working with Partners Worldwide currently has a mortality rate of 10% (5% is the industry standard) and without intervention, can lose his entire flock in a week.
How?
Come hack with us!
