Homelessness Action Week: October 11-17, 2015
Each year, the City of Vancouver joins communities and organizations throughout the region to mark Homelessness Action Week.
What the week is about
Homelessness Action Week is organized by the Greater Vancouver Regional Steering Committee on Homelessness 
. The committee is a coalition of community organizations and all levels of government.
The week’s purpose is to raise public awareness on the issues of homelessness, and rally local solutions to the issues.

Events and initiatives
The City is committed to ending street homelessness, and is a proud supporter of – and participant in – Homelessness Action Week through a number of events and initiatives.
Each year, we support several events that occur during Homelessness Action Week and over the course of the year, including:
- Homeless Connect events, where attendees can get everything from health care assistance to bike repairs to a nutritious meal
- A range of educational and other events hosted by local non-profit organizations
