On this Christmas day, join us for carol singing on an often forgotten, marginalized corner in Vancouver, at the NE corner of Main and East Hastings Street.
The carol singing is part of a remarkable Christmas Day event named “Hope & Love 4 U”, which was initiated by a Nisga’a brother Alex Watts three years ago.
While currently working, he experienced homelessness in DTES years before and knows well what it is like not to have a Christmas, feel hopeless, unloved and with no one to talk to. So he created this event to bring 500 bag lunches, soup and home-made Christmas cards, collection of gently used clothing and cheer to the marginalized in this neighborhood.
Volunteers needed. A family orientated event. Come one come all to partake and share Hope & Love to the Downtown Eastside Christmas morning from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm.
