A Visual Journey Through 20 Years of Transformation
Hyde Creek Community Church
2145 Nova Scotia Ave, Port Coquitlam
Wednesday, April 23rd, 7.30–9pm
Twenty years have passed since the devastating genocide that robbed Rwanda of over 1 million of its men, women and children. In 2014, we commemorate these tragic events, while also joining our Rwandan brothers and sisters in celebrating the incredible transformation that has taken place, and is continuing to take place, as the country emerges from the brokenness of its past. On April 23rd, we invite you to join us as we share about the hope and healing that is being experienced in Rwanda … and how YOU can become engaged in this journey.
For ten years, The Wellspring Foundation has been privileged to walk alongside the people of Rwanda, equipping teachers and school leaders to be catalysts for change in the lives of their students, their schools, and their entire communities. As we invest in quality education for the next generation of Rwandans, we are truly seeing lives transformed, and we are excited to share these stories with you.
At this event, through works of art and written reflections, we hope to give you a glimpse of how Rwanda is being renewed – and how Wellspring is playing a part in this process as together we help children to thrive and fulfil their God-given potential. You will also have the opportunity to hear from photographer Lorna Rande, and Wellspring’s Kelly Warkentin, about their recent experiences in Rwanda, and the tangible difference that is being made through investment in the lives of children in Rwanda and beyond.
Come join us for an inspiring evening, featuring beautiful pieces of art, reflection and discussion, and a delicious chocolate fountain – complete with Rwandan-style fruit. Most of all, come prepared to enter into, and engage with, Rwanda’s story of healing, hope and transformation.
