Since debuting on Broadway 51 years ago, Jesus Christ Superstar has gone through many iterations and revivals. What’s different about the version coming to Vancouver is its emphasis on dance.
McOnie was nominated for an Olivier Award for his choreography for the 2016 Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre version, which was directed by Regent’s Park’s Timothy Sheader. The production, which comes to Vancouver through Broadway Across Canada, won the 2017 Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival.
