Award Criteria
The Kinbrace Educational Award will be given to a person under the age of 25 who is graduating high school, or who graduated within the last five years, with a high school diploma, and who:
- Is in British Columbia, pursuing post-secondary education in Canada
- Who made, or whose parents made, a refugee claim (and received a negative or positive decision) and is now a:
- Protected Person or has Convention Refugee status, or
- Permanent Resident, or
- Canadian Citizen
- Was not born in Canada
Preference will be given to those who demonstrate:
- Financial need (proof of household income required
- Admission to their planned post-secondary education program prior to receipt of award
- Full-time course registration (not less than four courses per semester, eight courses per academic year)
This award will be made on the recommendation of the MOSAIC-Kinbrace Awards Committee with input from donors or designates.
