You are warmly invited to an early screening evening of Nimule, a documentary film by Nathaniel Ross Kelly.
What is the weight of one boy’s life in the midst of South Sudan’s history of violence and displacement? Nimule is a documentary film about a street kid named Mori, his battle with epilepsy, and the surrogate fathers who built a home for him in a nation ravaged by war. Filmed and edited over a period of thirteen years, the documentary follows the child, his makeshift family, and his nation, fighting to survive against impossible odds.
The event will include a presentation of scenes and sequences from the rough cut of the film, a Q&A with the director, Nathaniel Ross Kelly, and an exploration of the connections between documentary film and the theology of disability. There will be light refreshments.
