An Ignatian-style Silent Retreat
With Father Richard Soo SJ
Light Lunch Included
St Augustines Parish Centre, Kitsilano
Friday June 10 | 9:30am – 4:30pm
As a part of our growing retreat programme we like to offer participants a variety of ways to connect with God during a retreat. This retreat is geared towards those who are open to a day offering long periods of silence, short times of group devotions and individual spiritual direction.
Father Richard Soo SJ Retreat Faciliator
Richard is a Jesuit from the Byzantine Catholic Church tradition. Born in Vancouver, Father Soo grew up in the Presbyterian Church. A lawyer by trade, he began searching for religion seriously as a university student. While he noted that you just do not go out and find a Byzantine church on every street corner, he said that he researched various religions and, after becoming attracted to the Catholic Church found that the Byzantine tradition was more in keeping with his evangelical background than the Latin rite. We are delighted that Father Richard has gladly responded to our invitation to facilitate this retreat.
