You’re invited to a reception on March 17 from 4 to 7 pm for the opening of artist Sarah Kurbjuweit’s exhibition Rhythms & Roots.
Rhythms & Roots explores the search for anchors in a fast-paced, globalized, and fragmented world. Inspired by the seasons of the liturgical year, the exhibit blends the symbols, forms, and colours of medieval-era stained glass windows to express how emotional markers like ritual and rhythm, joy and grief, and anticipation and fulfillment grant the rootless access into something much bigger than themselves. It is a personal story of cross-cultural transition and the loss of friendships framed in tangible daily, weekly, and yearly rhythms of sacred time and space.
