It’s Christmas in Vancouver! Broadway Church’s “Singing Christmas Tree” is a very popular and well-established Vancouver tradition, now in its 47th year in serving the people in the Lower Mainland.
This past year’s Christmas presentation in Vancouver, BC was seen by close to 20,000 people. It featured a 120+ voice choir, vocal ensembles, 35+ piece orchestra, and circus performers intermingled with drama and dance – a special 90 minute festive presentation designed with the whole family in mind. It’s a new presentation every year, and is a performance you won’t want to miss!
This year’s theatrical presentation is entitled “On A Winter’s Pond”. The story takes place on a small body of water tucked away in the middle of a redwood forest. It features a pair of old friends ice-fishing who are looking for some peace and quiet away from the bustle of Christmas Eve activities, only to find themselves interrupted by several groups of people who come to experience the joys of skating – some for the first time!
Mingled with humour and creative elements never seen on our stage before, this entertaining story demonstrates that there is a difference between being lonely and being alone. Come and discover what “Emmanuel – God With Us” means for the Christmas season in the story of these characters.
Phil Spoelstra, Director
