Join us for The Book of Remembrance: Lest We Forget, a special Remembrance Day Concert featuring the Band of the 15th Field Regiment (also known as the Bessborough Armoury Band) on Saturday, November 9th at 7:30 PM in the Sanctuary of Canadian Memorial United Church.

This moving evening of music will honor the sacrifices made by military personnel and their families. The Band of the 15th Field Regiment will perform a stirring selection of pieces, reflecting on themes of courage, service, and remembrance. The evening will also feature our Music Ministry, with Bruce McKenzie on the organ and performances of classic wartime songs by Sabrielle and Lindsay.

What makes this concert even more unique is the history of Canadian Memorial United Church as a war memorial. We house the only copies of the Books of Remembrance outside of the Peace Tower in Ottawa, and these books contain the names of Canadians who gave their lives in service. On Sunday, November 10th, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM, we will be opening the Books of Remembrance, offering a rare opportunity to look up loved ones, with white gloves provided for this special occasion.

The concert will be led by Eric Wong, the Music Director and a school teacher by profession, who recently took over the leadership of this talented Reserves Band. The members of the Band of the 15th Field Regiment have diverse careers but come together to serve and perform, making their music even more poignant.
