The Science of Television Meets the Art of Compromise.
It’s the golden age of television, a time when live teleplays dominate the small screen. Lulu Miles is determined to tell the story of her mother’s invention of the first all-electrical TV. But this is 1952 and she’s just a lowly script girl from Indiana. How can she possibly fight the sexism, censorship, and fear-based politics of McCarthyism that threaten to silence anyone who doesn’t play by the rules?
With the crackling dialogue of a screwball comedy and the sweeping scope of an epic drama, The Ruby Sunrise invites us into a stylish world where following your vision just might pay off.
“A person is allowed to look at this world and dream of ways for it to be different.”
