Award-winning conductor Dr. Joel Tranquilla, Director of Choral Activities at TWU’s School of the Arts, Media + Culture, brings the audience an enchanting afternoon of musical performances to usher in the spirit and meaning of Christmas.
Concert highlights:
- Special guests, the Pacific Mennonite Children’s Choir, under the direction of TWU alumna Betty-Ann Braun
- Performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Christmas cantata Hodie
- Works by composers Gustav Holst, John Burge, Donald Fraser, and SAMC’s own Dr. David Squires
- Well-known carols and traditional audience singalongs
The annual Christmas at the Chan Centre concert is a collaborative gift to the wider community from the Chan family, the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, and Trinity Western University, and is made possible through the generous assistance of the Chan Endowment Fund of the University of British Columbia.
