The second edition of the Faculty Speaker Series is here, celebrating innovative research by TWU researchers.
The November edition’s speakers are Joshua Hale, MFA, Dr. David Clements, and Dr. Kelly Arbeau.
Topic: Bridging the Arts and Sciences: Applying Creative Methods in Transdisciplinary Collaboration to the Study of Invasive Knotweed
The problem of invasive knotweed is as resistant to straightforward solutions as the plant itself is to removal from BC waterways. Since 2020, a team of TWU faculty and students from across the arts and sciences have applied an Integrated Creative Practices framework to the study of the spread of invasive knotweed along rivers. From the advancement of scientific knowledge about the spread of knotweed to a community-level knowledge mobilization campaign, the presenters will share about project goals and outcomes, applications to other forms of transdisciplinary research, the meanings that student project members attached to the experience—and lessons learned along the way.
Students, Faculty and Staff are welcome to attend!
Light refreshments will be served.
