Listen in as thoughtful voices from the charitable sector discuss the impact of federal policies on their work.
DETAILS
There are 86,000 registered charities in Canada that do important work in our communities. But over the past decade, the federal government has increasingly used charitable tax status to influence the full range of their charitable activity.
This is a troubling trend for charities. When governments play around with charitable status, they create instability in the sector. And when the good work of charities is threatened, our communities suffer as a result.
Cardus is convening panelists from across the sector for an evening of dialogue on their work and the impact of federal policies. Join us to discuss the importance of charities in civil society and how public policy can support their flourishing.
