“Understanding Islam & Loving Muslims”, Workshop with Dr. Don Little, Saturday May 26, 2018 from 8:45—12 Noon, at New Life Community Church
Don, Jeanie and their three children spent many years working in North Africa. Don currently serves as Pioneers’ Islamic Missiologist. In this role he also teaches at Houghton College and co-founded and leads the Lilias Trotter Center, which trains frontline missionaries around the world. A New Life missionary since 1986, Don comes with years of experience and education and is a great teacher.
These are the workshops:
- Introducing Islam
In this session we’ll discuss the life of Muhammad as Islam’s prophet and the Qur’an as Islam’s holy book. We’ll cover the role of Muslims in history as well as the diversity of Muslims in the world today (including how radical Islam relates to other versions of Islam).
- Introducing Muslims to Jesus
In this session we’ll discuss fruitful ways of responding to common Muslim questions, objections and misconceptions about Christianity. We’ll also share how we can ask informed, diplomatic questions of them. - Introducing Ourselves to Muslims
In this session we’ll discuss ways of meeting and developing authentic friendships with our Muslim neighbors, classmates and co-workers.
The seminar will be by suggested donation of $25. A light lunch will be served. There will be coffee, tea and snacks served at the coffee break.
