We are planning a Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation to coincide with the second anniversary of the publication of the Report of the TRC and the 94 Calls to Action. The Walk will start at Fort Langley National Historic Site – a historic bastion of colonialism in the region – and end at the site of the closest Indian Residential School – St. Mary’s in Mission, BC.
The walk is 35Km. in length and will take place over three days – June 2nd-4th, 2017. This concept arises from Bishop Mark MacDonald’s observation that the Sacred Walk is common to both Indigenous and Christian Spirituality.
The United Churches of Langley, Christian Reformed Church, Willoughby Church, Mennonite Church, British Columbia, Diocese of New Westminster, Anglican Church of Canada and Reconciliation Langley are hosting this event!
