“Who Should Judge the Limits of Free Speech?”
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Northwest Auditorium
What is freedom of speech? Should we have the freedom to say whatever we like? How much freedom of speech should be tolerated in a democracy? These are some of the most pressing questions of our time. In this public lecture, two of Trinity Western University’s philosophers will provide some answers to these questions that shed light on the proper meaning and usage of free speech in our turbulent times. Dr. Grant Havers of Trinity Western University will speak on “Is Freedom of Speech an Absolute?” and Dr. Chris Morrissey of Trinity Western University’s educational partner Catholic Pacific College will speak on “Does Error Have Any Rights?” with ample time for vigorous audience interaction and abundant free speech.
