Presented by the O’Driscoll Forum on Preaching and the Arts & the Anglican Foundation of Canada:
As one of America’s best known and loved preachers, Professor Will Willimon is no stranger to sharing Jesus’ story with the world. But Jesus’ story presents a unique challenge and opportunity. Unlike historical figures whose stories are fixed in time, Jesus makes it difficult by continuing to live in and among us. Jesus’ story is ongoing.
The 2024 O’Driscoll Forum provides an excellent opportunity to hear Professor Willimon share some of his experience with the ongoing Jesus’ story, and how time and time again experiences with Jesus continue to shock, inspire, and transform.
A bishop in the United Methodist Church, Professor Will Willimon served as the dean of Duke Chapel and professor of Christian ministry at Duke University for 20 years. He returned to Duke after serving as the bishop of the North Alabama Conference from 2004 to 2012. He has taught in Germany, Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia in various seminaries. He is a trustee of Wofford College, Emory University, and serves on the Dean’s Committee of Yale Divinity School. A prominent writer as well as preacher, Professor Willimon is the author of over 70 books, with over a million copies sold.
