Mark Noll: Yesterday’s Evangelical Wisdom for Today

Join us on Wednesdays during this year’s Summer Programs to enjoy conversations with members of our summer faculty. The professors and topics are different each week, so there’s always something new to explore.

This week, Summer faculty member Mark Noll will be joined by visiting historian Mark Smith for a conversation about how evangelical wisdom from the past is still relevant to us today.Join us at noon in Room 100, and feel free to bring your lunch.

SPEAKERS

Mark Noll is Research Professor of History at Regent College, and recently retired as Francis A. McAnaney Professor of History at the University of Notre Dame. This summer he is teaching on The Bible, Slavery & the American Civil War.

Mark Smith is Associate Professor and Director of Studies in Local and Social History at Kellogg College. His current research focuses on church party and church reform in the early nineteenth century, a history of evangelical parish ministry 1780-1980, and relationships between evangelicalism and fundamentalism in Britain.

FORMAT

Wednesday Lunchtime Conversations will be offered onsite at Regent College. These events are open to the public, and no registration is required.
