We hope to visit Cologne Cathedral near the beginning of our trip. Creative Commons (Martin Falbisoner),
Updates will be spotty from now until mid-June as Margaret and I will be travelling in Europe.
I do hope to post the odd article, and will keep up with both Jobs and Events, but for the most part we’ll be seeing the sights and visiting family and friends.
We leave next week. Margaret will return in late May to help with the delivery of one of our daughters’ fifth child. I will carry on until mid-June.
We will spend the first week with our other daughter and her husband (and children). He is on a sabbatical from his university and doing research in northwest Germany, near Aachen, home to a throne erected by Charlemagne in 790.
Following that we will spend a month or so using our Eurail passes to visit Denmark. Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czechia, Austria and Switzerland (where we’ll stay with friends) before heading back for another week with our daughter’s family.
Margaret will return home and I will make my way to the Inner Hebrides for our book club’s 100th book celebration.
I will be taking lots of pictures and some notes, so maybe I’ll write about a few of the impressive Christian historical sites we visit. I did something brief following our visit to Norway, Britain and Tunisia in the fall of 2023, but I hope to keep up a little better this time. We’ll see.
I’m looking forward to getting away – but I’m always very happy to get back to my home town.
Blessings,
Flyn
