A tidal wave of poverty is sweeping across the Himalayas as a result of COVID-19. With continued lockdowns forcing millions of migrant workers to come home, and day labourers to stop working, the loss of income and livelihood is immense: a growing abyss of poverty, devastation, and darkness.
“Self-arrest” is a mountaineering term used to describe the technique of stopping a fall or slide with an ice axe. That is exactly what Himalayan Life is setting out to do by “arresting the darkness”. Himalayan Life is shedding light into the lives of marginalized children in the Himalayas through protecting, nurturing and educating in the midst of this crisis.
Please join us for a virtual Gala on Thursday, November 19th at 7pm to hear the stories of how Himalayan Life is Arresting the Darkness.
Date + Time: Thursday, November 19th at 7pm
Field reports and news from Nepal, short films, and a keynote address from CEO Daniel Burgi.

Our goal is to raise $250,000 for Himalayan Life’s work in Nepal of protecting, nurturing and educating disadvantaged children in this time of COVID-19. We are grateful for donors who have promised matching funding for $125,000.00, so every dollar you give equals two dollars.
