deas That Matter is an online lecture series hosted by Regent College this academic year with the purpose of cultivating theological engagement with contemporary issues that are particularly relevant at this cultural moment.

Please join us as Regent College welcomes Dr. David Leong, who is giving thought to important questions such as: Why does the social life of the church so often reflect the cultural and economic divisions of society? What might belonging look like if we took seriously the call of discipleship to participate with God in reconciling all things? This lecture will explore the challenges of racial division in cities and neighborhoods, but also the importance of place and imagination for the faithful witness of Christian communities in our divided world.

Dr. David Leong is Associate Professor of Missiology at Seattle Pacific University and Seminary. His teaching and research interests explore urban geography, race and theological anthropology, and missional ecclesiology. David and his wife Chris loved their time at Regent in the beautiful city of Vancouver, and are deeply grateful for the transformative learning and friendships they experienced in the Regent community.
