“Deliver Us From Evil” is this Year’s focus in our eight-part Lord’s Prayer Series

We would love to have you join us this July 17th Friday 2pm to July 18th Saturday 8pm at Trinity Western University. The buildings this year will all be air-conditioned so come and enjoy fellowship and good food at the cafeteria. Jacobson Hall is where the prayer vigil and children’s program will be located, and for those staying overnight. The main talks will be in the Robert Thompson building which is right next door to Jacobson Hall. The Cafeteria is in Reimer hall, the same place as last year. Mark Hird will be leading the children’s program and we will once again do a skit from the Bible at the Talent Show.

Our Evangelist/keynote speaker is Brian Shimer. Brother Brian is a joyful storyteller, a compassionate encourager and passionate disciple of Jesus. He’s preached internationally, served in many Christian Ashrams, and loves to see Jesus impact and change people’s lives.

Brian and his wife Karen have been married 45 years. They have four daughters and ten grandchildren. The author of two books, with more to come, Brian finds writing, painting, baking and jumping into cold lakes restoring and refreshing.

Our Bible Teacher is Dr. John Roddam.

John was born and raised in Eastern Canada – Pictou, NS. John and his wife Holly have four adult children and four awesome granddaughters.

The Roddam’s served in three Anglican parishes in Nova Scotia before moving with their family to Vancouver, BC in 1994. John served as Rector (Senior Pastor) of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church from 2000 to 2010 – the Mother Church of the Renewal Movement which has yielded the greatest harvest of souls in church history.

John stepped down from parish ministry in 2019 and now mentors leaders and serves the Body of Christ through conference & retreat speaking.

Our Church-In-Action speaker is Florence Nsenga Drent who has a heart to bring healing and reconciliation to Rwandan diaspora.

Our musician will once again be Christine Magee who has written many songs and is a wonderful worship leader.

What is an Ashram?

The Christian Ashram is a unique “Christian retreat” originated by the late missionary evangelist Stanley Jones in India in 1930.

Dr. Jones adapted the Indian practice of taking seekers ‘Ah’ (apart from) ‘Shram’ (hard work) for a time of Christian spiritual instruction and renewal.

This year, we will be focusing on the deliverance and freedom that Jesus offers us in the Lord’s Prayer. Come expecting to be changed, forgiven, and released. The retreat includes the Evangelist, the Bible Teacher, the Prayer Vigil, Share and Prayer groups each day, and Healing Services, as well as Rest, Recreation and Fellowship.
