Tenth Church has been helping welcome and settle refugees for the past 18 months. Join us as we gather with our new friends for World Refugee Weekend. Borders to Beginnings will be an evening of incredible Syrian food, middle eastern culture and beautiful relationships.
Food: The specially crafted menu showcases the collective efforts of talented Syrian refugee women chefs, including those we support at Tenth. We will feature dishes from the mother-daughter team of Hayat and Carmen. Hayat was a top chef from one of Damascus’ best hotels so we’re sure to have our tastebuds delighted. We’re also honored to have Vancouver Magazine’s glowingly-reviewed Syrian women’s food company, Tayybeh, cater some of their winning dishes for our evening!
Entertainment: Hear an inspiring speaker and enjoy music performed by our first refugee sponsor family, the Hasans! Shahryar Hasan was Runner Up on Kurdish Idol!
